Pau as was commonly referred, was a gentleman who was good at what he did, from dealing with young people, teaching and speaking eloquent Swahili, being a prowess administrator with a good sense of humour…the list is endless. Besides, he was a shrewd disciplinarian, hawk eyed, with an incredible memory who easily identified students with their voices let alone their countenances. I would easily qualify him as an ingenious man who has left an impeccable and rich legacy. Pau was a mentor who tremendously impacted positively in our lives. He was bestowed with a passion to instill self discipline and nurturing young people. Regardless of all this tributes, Pau was loved and hated in equal measure. His death got me by surprise in an akin way to that of Wangari Maathai, Steve Jobs and Kamau Wanjiru. In my own little world, am mourning a true hero who was instrumental in curving out my life at that delicate stage of my teenage hood.Steve Jobs said,’no one wants to die even the people who want to to go to heaven…..and yet death is the destination we all share. It clears out the old to make way for the new, right now you may be the new but gradually you will be cleared away’. LET IN GOD’S LOVE AND PEACE PAUL KAMAU KIARIE.
